Cookie Policy
Last updated: 14 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how InSkillBoost uses cookies and similar technologies (collectively "cookies"). It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. Cookies allow the site to remember your actions and preferences (language, login state, consent, etc.).
2. Categories of cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Site functionality, security, language switch, password gate, consent storage. | inskillboost_consent, password_* | Session — 12 months |
| Analytics (consent-only) | Understand how visitors use the Site (anonymized). | _ga, _ga_<id> | Up to 14 months |
| Functional (consent-only) | Remember non-essential preferences (e.g. preferred theme, optional language). | theme, locale-pref | Up to 12 months |
| Marketing / advertising | None — we do not run advertising on InSkillBoost. | — | — |
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social-media trackers without explicit consent.
3. Consent and Google Consent Mode v2
For visitors from the EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland and Quebec, no analytics or functional cookie is loaded until you explicitly consent through our cookie banner. We implement Google Consent Mode v2 with default state set to:
ad_storage=denied
analytics_storage=denied
ad_user_data=denied
ad_personalization=denied
functionality_storage=denied
personalization_storage=denied
security_storage=granted
When you accept, only the categories you agreed to are activated.
4. How to manage your cookies
You can change your preferences anytime:
- Click "Manage cookies" in the Site footer to reopen the consent panel.
- In your browser, you can block or delete cookies from the privacy/security settings (warning: blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the Site).
- For Google Analytics specifically, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser sends a GPC request, we treat it as an opt-out from analytics and functional cookies.
6. Third-party services we may load
| Provider | Cookie purpose | Privacy link |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC (Analytics) | Anonymized usage statistics | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Vercel Inc. (hosting) | Strictly necessary (session, deployment) | https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| Cloudflare CDN (cdnjs) | Strictly necessary (asset delivery) | https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ |
7. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices or applicable laws change. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision.
